2008 Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Grant and Loan Guarantee Program

Two Application Deadlines for Grants: April 15th and June 16th, Loan Guarantee Applications Due July 16th

$36 million in federal funds are available for the Section 9006 Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Grant and Loan Guarantee program (Section 9006). This year, USDA is allocating $15.9 million to fund grants and hopes to award $205 million in loan guarantees.

Application Deadlines and Award Notification Dates

Two application deadline for grants have been set this year; April 15^th and June 16^th. Notification on the first grant cycle is expected before June 16, 2008 and the second by September 16, 2008.

Applications for loan guarantees can be submitted at any time up to June 16^th and will be reviewed as they are received and award decisions made on a continual basis. Applications for grant-loan guarantee combinations will be reviewed bi-weekly through the June 16th deadline. Any program funds set aside for loan guarantees and grant-loan guarantee combinations that remain after August 15th will be made available for additional grants.

Electronic Applications

In 2008, applicants for grants only can submit their applications electronically via the www.grants.gov website. Information on electronic submission is available in the NOFA. (We will provide a direct link here once it becomes available).
